d&r studio

Hello, we are Ruth and David!
We are a small studio that emerged as a natural process, as a result of the collaboration that we had been doing since 2019. At the end of 2022 we created our brand to personalize the project and put our collaboration in context by giving it a name with its own identity, that reflected the quality and variety of styles that we had been doing. Thus d&r studio was born.
From Barranco, the artistic neighborhood par excellence of Lima, we work carefully and with detail so that our arts are faithful to the style that our clients look for in their collections.
We also dedicate ourselves to designing arts on demand collaborating with international studios and drawing patterns for sale on the internet with a more versatile approach, for different types of industries of fashion and decoration.
At d&r studio we like to think that with our work we bring beauty to people and the world, because we are this beauty that we share and create.
Ikigai: "with our work we bring beauty to people and the world, cause we're this beauty that we share and we create"
David Ruiz
My training is self-learning, although sometimes i have studied postgraduate and master's degrees in different subjects related to textiles and design, in Barcelona (my hometown). Linked to graphic design for textiles since the early 90s. As a freelancer I have worked for more than 100 companies in different countries, from small design studios and entrepreneurs to leading companies in the sector.
After 30 years working in fashion, I believe that my resilience speaks better than my talent. My initial studies are an anecdote that does not define my professional background and my career has been forged with constant restlessness and proactivity, in a tough and competitive work environment, as fashion and design has always been, which after all these years continues me passionate. My motivation over all these years has always been “make beautiful things that are liked.”

Since I was a little girl, I used to loved to draw at school all the time.It took a long time until I understood that it is a form of expression like any other art.
After 3 years working together, drawing patterns has become a search to reflect my identity and my sense of beauty that I like to convey in my work.
Just as some women are empowered by having a career as a lawyer, others are empowered by their way of dressing and it is something as valid as the above.
For a woman, her wardrobe is a very important part of her feminine identity.
